Repairing a river bank retaining wall

This project involved repairing and replacing a rockery wall which was retaining a riverbank very close to some residential properties. The wall had given way and part of the garden was making its way down the slope in to the river. To replace the wall a long reach excavator was used to lift all of the large quarry stones back into position. The wall was re-shaped to tier backwards, maximising the strength of the wall and the trees very near the edge which were putting pressure on the wall were moved further back into the garden.
